My favorite from TMPOE is Fake Palindromes. The album version was such a shock to me when I first heard it as it was really different live before.

| My favorite from TMPoE: Masterfade.
I can't decide on my all over favorite... maybe 11:11 or Action/Adventure.

| When I got "Swimming Hour" I would listen to 11:11 on repeat until it drove my wife nuts.
My favorite from "Eggs" is "Tables and Chairs," and so far my favorite from the new tracks that I hope will appear on the next album is "Plasticities."

Ahh, Tables and Chairs is good, especially live! At the concert I went to, he actually sang the "wordless chorus" and invited us all to join him. It went something like "Yaaadada! Yaaaadada-da-da-da-da-da, da-da-da..." Lol. You had to be there. And he also made the snacks line quite humerous and whimsical in the way that he said "And that's not all! Oh, there will be snacks, there will! There will be snacks! There's gonna be all kinds of snacks, so don't worry!" And then proceeding with the whistling. That was a fun night... Can't wait to see him again in October! Anyhoo, as far as favorite songs go, I really like Opposite Day for some reason. Especially the part where he says "And today was supposed to be... Not just another day!" The violin there is awesome. I also love his performances of Tenuousness and Section 8 City on From The Basement. There's just so much beauty there. The acoustics of it were also phenomenal. The line in Take Courage where he says "Night's falling, so take courage since you're not alone, no you're not alone" and it's overlapping "Now you spin dirty laundry, and you dream of the kind of love you knew the day you're born" That moment is magical and really touches somewhere deep for me. The Privateers really personifies the way that I feel sometimes, just wanting to sail away from the safe harbor and see the world. Of course, that's not the full meaning of the song, but when I listen to music, I tend to build stories in my head with the lyrics that stick out to me the most. Which is why Heretics always makes me cry. Natural Disaster makes me feel like a little kid playing in the bathtub again. Why? has this effect on me that is very intensely and passionately seductive. It's like, Damn you Andrew for singing so provocatively and beguilingly while I am but a mere fan! For now, that is... Hehehe It's weird how a single person's music can make you feel like you know them so closely, when in actuality, you've never even had the chance to meet them. So goes my current love of Mr. Bird... Wow, I really don't know where this discussion has run off to! Hope you find it again once you're through with reading my rambling!

| Tough call! I love Nervous Tic Motion of the Head to the Left - it's an amazing song in so many different ways. Why? is an incredible live tour de force - really heartfelt and dramatic. But then some of the quieter songs like Natural Disaster are really powerful. Has anyone heard his new song Lusitania? It's beautiful and really simple. Andrew previewed it in Edinburgh last month and someone posted a YouTube clip (not great quality but you'll get the idea). The lyrics are heartbreaking. And I love Anonanimal 'cos I got to meet Andrew and film it... an amazing moment... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRm8QbrZNpg | |
