I've already talked about him on the French side of the forum, but for the english speaker, here's a little topic about one of the best songwriters to have emerged in the past years, Paul Armfield.
With influences ranging from Leonard Cohen to Tim Buckley, from Jacques Brel to Tindersticks, Paul Armfield makes delicate, romantic folk music, a bit somber but definitely beautiful. If you like Tindersticks or artists like James Yorkston, Micah P Hinson or even Sufjan Stevens (and Andrew Bird of course), you'd better check his albums, "Songs Without Words" and "Evermine".
